THE GOATMAN OF CHERRYFIELD

Lost goat or did someone stray too far from their seance?

I know what you’re thinking and no, this isn’t about my ex-boyfriend. But it is about a half man/half goat creature that likes to play tricks on weary travelers. Lets get started.

An older man was driving thru Cherryfield when his truck suddenly rolled to a stop. Irritated and a bit confused the man couldn’t figure out the issue. He had topped off his gas tank before setting out and his truck was in good working order. Sure enough, his gas gauge read empty. He got out of the truck to check the tank and just like the gauge said, it was bone dry. The man checked the ground and could find no evidence of a leak or any reason why the tank would be empty.

He looked up, likely grumbling about his damned luck and saw a man standing in the road. The man couldn’t quite come to terms with what he was seeing. The man was wearing a plaid shirt but nothing from the waste down. His legs were hairy and goat like, complete with cloven hooves instead of feet.

The visual I am getting is of the devil…this is exactly how I picture the devil. (Hmmm, maybe this is about my ex after all.) Either that or Mr. Timnus had a heck of a night trying to find his way back to Narnia.

The man blinked a few times and did a double take only to watch the devil-like goat-looking thing casually walk back into the woods. The man, undoubtedly shaken returned to his truck only to find his gas tank was full once again.

He sped away, confused and terrified at what he had seen.  And what had he seen? Does a mystical goat man live in the desolate woods of Cherryfield? Or maybe it was the devil after all? What was the goat mans purpose and what was the issue with the gas tank? I have so many questions!

I think what we should really be asking ourselves is how much had this guy smoked/drank before he hit the road? By my knowledge, there have been no other sightings of this goat man. If anyone else has a story about this creature, drop me a message. I would love to hear it.
